Frequently Asked Questions
Is the program really free? What’s the catch
No catch. The program is 100% free to every veteran - no application fee, no equity taken, no fee of any kind, now or ever. VVF is funded entirely through donations, corporate sponsorships, and grants from individuals and organizations who want to invest in veteran entrepreneurship.
Do I need a fully developed business idea to apply?
No. We work with veterans at every stage - from ‘I have a general interest in a space’ through ‘I have early customers.’ What we require is genuine commitment to the full 16- week program. The idea can be rough. The commitment must be firm.
What does “all-or-nothing” mean?
Every component of the VVF Build Package is interconnected. A financial model without a marketing plan, or a pitch deck without a business plan, is a recipe for failure. We deliver complete business infrastructure - not partial deliverables - because partial engagement produces partial outcomes.
Who delivers the program - volunteers or paid staff?
Full-time, salaried professionals. VVF was designed from Day One to employ dedicated, compensated staff for all program delivery - never volunteer-dependent quality. Seven staff members are on the payroll before the first veteran cohort begins.
What branches and service lengths qualify?
All branches - Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines, Coast Guard, Space Force, National Guard, and Reserve. Any service length, from a 2-year enlistment to a 30-year career. The program is also open to veteran spouses and Gold Star family members.
How do I know if my business idea is a fit?
If you served and want to build something, you’re a fit. The Discovery Call is designed to assess where you are and whether VVF is the right tool for your specific stage. Apply first - ask your questions on the call. The application takes 10 minutes and does not obligate you to anything.
